Mumford and Sons debuted a new song in Philly a few days ago. Incredible how their live shows sound like CDQ. ”Ghost That We Knew”.

“Little Do they Know” at Van Dyke Cafe this past Friday on South Beach, Miami.
This is where I spent my Friday night.

Just finished experiencing @ActiveChild live. Breathtaking with no flash or flare. Just harmonies, synths, a harp, and a statue.

Kendrick Lamar + Jay West @ Masquerade [Video]
The Creative Control crew captured brief interviews and some performance footage from last week’s show. I can’t remember how many times I’ve been a fan of an artist to then be under-impressed by their live show. It was refreshing to see Kendrick add little subtle elements to his set that really enhanced the experience. Always good to feel that raw hip hop energy and people representing the culture from all coast, but the West Side was definitely in the building.

N.E.R.D - “Hypnotize” (Letterman Performance)
New N.E.R.D. jam from their new album, Nothing. Produced by Daft Punk. I’m feeling the production.

Marsha Ambrosius - “I Hope She Cheats” Live
Marsha’s performance of “I Hope She Cheats” at the J & R Music Fest in New York. If someone could pick up where Ms. Hill left off it would be her. After seeing her Lauryn’s recent disappointing Speedy Gonzales renditions of classics we could use someone to fill the void.

MTV TJ Live Finale
I’m back in Atlanta still trying to digest everything that took place this last month. When I received a vague email asking for my participation in a new “opportunity” I had no clue what I was signing up for. Almost a month later I can say this was the most intense job interview I’ve had. The minute I walked into the MTV headquarters I could feel the energy surrounding this new venture. The search wrapped up with a live finale in my hometown of New York at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Perfect backdrop for my win right? Wrong… I came in as the 2nd runner up. The incredible fashionista Gabi Greggs was voted in as the first ever MTV TJ. Between Twitter challenges, celebrity interviews, concerts, photo shoots, studios and meeting new friends it was a dope experience I’ll never forget. If you didn’t get to catch the finale live you can watch the stream below.

A-Trak + Chilly Gonzales
I love collabs like this. Reminds me of when I use to rock with my sister on the violin.
