Blue Dot Experiment

Blue Dot Studio put 25 of their chairs on the streets of Manhanttan, and then followed the chairs through a combination of GPS and video surveillance as people picked them up and took them home–which, by the way, the public could follow in real time on Twitter. Then they interviewed the chair-collectors. This is the film.

Empire State PT 2

Between the VMA’s, Fashion Week, the US Open and the usual New York day & night life there was something going on at every corner.

I got to eat one of my grandma’s famous dishes. I’d put $ that no one can throw down better  Papa Rellena and Acapuria.

Universal Motown artist Melanie Fiona hung out and had a listening party for her new album ‘The Bridge’ at the LTB store in Soho.

We got to meet up with David & Lauren who founded the non profit group The Love Alliance.

They just wrapped up their summer touring promoting social justice awareness and are now living in NY. Lauren is co-producing for the TV Show “What not to Wear”. She filled us in on some of the guest for next seasons ‘Americas Top Worst Dressed’ series. There will be some uhm…..interesting people on the show!

The week wrapped up with a trip to the New Yankee Stadium to see the Bronx Bombers play Toronto.

This was the game that almost never happened. Me being so overwhelmed with work the last month got the tickets sent to my house and never checked the tickets to make sure they were for the game I wanted to go to which was Wednesday night. 4 hours away from start time I pull the tix out of my pocket to see them say “Tuesday, September 15th”. Yeah I’m an idiot. After a quick dead pause in the middle of a busy New York City street and briefly cursing myself out I jumped online to see if there where any tix available for that nights game, as I was not about to miss what I came to NY for. Luckily there where seats still available. Even better seats then I originally had!
The Yanks went on to win the game by one run in the bottom of the 9th. And no, there where no WWE brawls like the night before.

We hit up a restaurant called Sea in Brooklyn with our friends Yvette & Jose. Beyond the spicy meal messing me up for the rest of the night I’d recommend it to anyone.

Big shout out to my Uncle who opened his place for the wife and I to stay in and showed us great time. Little did I know he runs NY!

I did not get to see everyone I wanted to or visit everywhere I wanted to go. I’ll be back home soon. Look out for me.

Walked by some authentic city art:

Wife got to see exact street, building, school, neighborhood in Brooklyn that raised me.
